Acanthophthạlmus, Gattung bis 15 cm langer, wurmförmiger Schmerlen in den Süßgewässern Südasiens. Ein häufig gehaltener Warmwasseraquarienfisch ist das Gefleckte Dornauge (Acanthophthalmus kuhlii) mit je einem aufrichtbaren Dorn unter den Augen.
